As of November 23, 2006, residents in New York can go directly to a Physical Therapist without being required by law, to obtain a prescription from your medical doctor. This provides New Yorkers with another streamlined access-point into the health care system. Close collaboration between your doctor and your physical therapists will continue to ensure your safety and guide you toward full recovery.
