Agape Physical Therapy

It's All About The Posture!

The address to the golf ball is the start in the sequence to actually swinging the club, so if there is a problem here, the whole is swing can be a set-up for failure. It's easy to check your set-up posture at home! Just stand next to a full-length mirror and hold a 7-iron as if you were going to hit a shot. Take a look at the mirror and compare yourself to the pictures below.

If your set-up mimics either or these positions, you are likely causing compensations to occur elsewhere in the swing that can lead to increased risk for injury, lack of power, inconsistency, and plenty of other problems!

This is the position you should try to attain and if this is difficult for any reason, then seeing Dr. Strack for an assessment should be your next step!

My name is Daniel Strack, PT, DPT. I am originally from Horseheads, NY and graduated with my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Nazareth College in 2017. I completed my last clinical rotation of PT school at the Chili location of Agape which led me to pursue beginning my career here. I played golf for four years at Nazareth College and am an avid sports fan. Since my junior year of high school, I knew I wanted to be a physical therapist and use my skills to help people live the life they want

In May 2018, I attained a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Certification, which allows me the opportunity to biomechanically evaluate and treat physical limitations in a golfer. Following a thorough screening, I can identify physical weaknesses (limited mobility, decreased strength, etc..) that may lead to current limitations for a golfer, or may predispose them to a potential injury, and then tailor an individualized exercise program towards those weaknesses. Whether it be rehabilitation as a therapy patient or screening and treatment as a golf client, I would love the opportunity to help you along your journey to a higher level of function.
